Observing Processes

چکیده
This paper discusses the sorts of observations of processes that are appropriate to capture priority. The standard denotational semantics for CSP are based around observations of traces and refusals. Choosing to record a little more detail allows extensions of CSP which describe some very general processes including those that include priority. A minimal set of observations yields a language and semantics remarkably close to the standard Failures-Divergences model of CSP which is described in a companion paper [1]. A slightly richer set of observations yields a somewhat less abstract language.

Economic-Statistical Design of a Control Chart for High Yield Processes When the Inspection is Imperfect
CCC-r control chart is a monitoring technique for high yield processes. It is based on the analysis of the number of inspected items until observing a specific number of defective items. One of the assumptions in implementing CCC-r chart that has a significant effect on the design of the control chart is that the inspection is perfect. However, in reality, due to the multiple reasons, the...
متن کاملEstimation of nonstationary spatial covariance structure
We introduce a method for estimating nonstationary spatial covariance structure from space-time data and apply the method to an analysis of Sydney wind patterns. Our method constructs a process honouring a given spatial covariance matrix at observing stations and uses one or more stationary processes to describe conditional behaviour given observing site values. The stationary processes give a ...
متن کاملPerceptual Components for Context Aware Computing
In this paper we propose a software architecture for observing and modeling human activity. This architecture is derived from an ontology for context awareness. We propose a model in which a user’s context is described by a set of roles and relations. Different configurations of roles and relations correspond to situations within the context. The components of a context model are used to specif...

Connected speech processes in Warlpiri
Connected speech processes (CSP) in Warlpiri, an indigenous language of central Australia, taken from two fluent ‘dreaming’ monologues are analyzed with the aim of observing the influence of language particular phonological constraints and prosody upon phonetic processes of lenition, co-articulation and selective segmental enhancement.
متن کاملOn observing another person's actions: influences of observed inhibition and errors.
It was investigated whether an observer would simulate another person's inhibitory and error processes. Two participants sitting next to each other performed a stop signal task in which they occasionally had to try and inhibit their response when indicated to do so by a stop signal. They could either successfully stop the response or fail to stop and, thereby, make an error. An aftereffect of t...
